Carpal tunnel syndrome- treatment?
I've got a bit of this in the right wrist (I'm left handed, before you all start making those kind of jokes about it...)

If anyone's had this, just wondering about good recovery tips. Just keeping it in a brace for a short while should do the trick or is there anything else which also helps?

I've got the Ulner Nerve thing at the moment (no strength in little and ring fingers). I was hoping it would just go away but it hasn't. Suppose I better get myself down to the docs and get that op done. Though there's probably a nine year waiting list.

My bird has it. As soon as she starts to feel the pain more, I just ask her to wank me off, it gets some movement in her wrist and she feels a lot better for it and we're both happy after. What a touch. She's got fantastic tits as well. COYI.

My wife had it in both wrists and rather than the op she chose deep massage and it worked. Couple of years and no return of the symptoms

Re: Carpal tunnel syndrome- treatment?
I've got it in both wrists. The right wrist is really painful, the left not too bad
On the x-rays they told me the left wrist was really bad & might even require surgery & the right wrist would only require an injection
This was in the local hospital at the beginning of January! I'm still waiting for the injection (I can live with the left wrist the way it is ~ I'm right handed)
I held out my right wrist expecting the bloke to give me an injection but was told that only the top man can give the injection ~ apparently GP's etc are no longer allowed to give them!

Re: Carpal tunnel syndrome- treatment?
In many cases this can be cured by an injection in the wrist. This can usually be done at a GP surgery but not necessarily by your GP as it's a bit of a specialist job. I think they inject into or around the nerve and I think it's probably steroids that they use. It has a very high success rate and, bizarrely, most people have one injection and it's gone forever. They would not anticipate given more than two or three injections ever. If it doesn't work then there are surgical options.

Spend a lot of time working on a laptop and get this on and off - bought one of these a while back and it helps :

I had it a couple of years ago, had a fight coming up so had a cortisone injection done two days before and it sorted it right out.

CTS is prevalent in my industry, its not trivial at all and is not easy to diagnose as the symptoms are almost identical to tendonitis.

The misses had this. Had both wrists operated on (not at the same time) a few years back. Right as rain now.

Re: Carpal tunnel syndrome- treatment?
I have had pins in needles coming and going in my left wrist for the past three weeks and went to The Osteopath yesterday. She manipulated it for 30 mins, it is fucking killing me today but hope it does the trick. Told me to get back in touch in a few weeks if it doesnt ease up.

She thinks it is RSI

I am right handed btw.

Re: Carpal tunnel syndrome- treatment?
I had Ulner nerve surgery ' pins n needles in ring and little finger , Carpal tunnel is the other side of the hand its compressed nerve in the arm . Surgery relieved pain I had but fingers are still numb ,it can originate in neck vertebrae so an MRI is worth checking out

Look in the mirror and repeat three times "I don't want to be a gay". It will clear right up.

This also works for gluten allergies, dyslexia and cat ownership

Does it work for being gay?

As beppe has just said...if doesn't get better with rest, this is the end game.

Mother-in-Law had the op on Saturday.

Re: Carpal tunnel syndrome- treatment?
You will need a small op with a six week recovery and you can't use that hand

Man up. Who wears a wrsit brace for a little pins and needles?

Seriously though. If it doesn't sort itself out in six months go to A&E as your hand is likely to drop off.

Lack of knowledge of a subject has NEVER stopped anyone on here from offering authoritative advice on it.

Well obviously.

Just wanted to see if anyone's had it and if so how they dealt with it.

Ask a medical professional not a bunch of football fans.
